The Health and Physical Activity Institute was amazing this summer at JMU. I know a lot of people have been looking for the link to the Brain and Body Boosts we made so I have place the link below. I hope everyone has an amazing school year!
Having an amazing time at the VAHPERD Conference. Thanks to all of you that came out to my presentations on “What Twitter Taught Me” and the “DanSIRS Across Virginia” presentation with Scott Williams and Stevie Gray. I have placed a link to the presentation websites below. I have also created a great new dance that I hope you all will be able to use with your students to “The Avocado Song” by Alton Eugene.
I had the honor of spending the morning with some amazing teachers from Roanoke County earlier this week. I had so much fun and picked up some great idea’s from these teachers. We got the opportunity to create a teacher tabata with all the elementary PE teachers collaborating . I hope you are able to use this in some way in your school this year as either an instant activity, brain break in your students classroom or warm-up to start everyones day during morning announcement. I wish you all the best during your school year and please let me know if you ever need anything.
I can’t express to you all how much fun I had making this dance with my boys in VA and all over the US. This is my favorite dance we have done to date. Don’t worry there will be more. I am honored to have the opportunity to work (and play) with these amazing professionals. Might make this one my field day dance next year! Can’t wait for the next one!
Thanks to Albemarle County PE teachers for having me come out and spend a few hours showing you some of my activities. I had a blast and really appreciate your willingness to participate and share your experiences and ideas with me. While I was there we got a chance to create a PE Teacher Tabata for them to share with their students. Here is what they came up with!
JMU HPAI does it again!! I am amazed at how every year I go it just gets better and better. I learned so much this year from some amazing presenters. We had the National TOYs teaching us some great activities but the highlight of the conference for me was getting to learn from our OPEN presenters. If you don’t know about this amazing FREE resource you should definitely check it out! What’s better than free resources created by some of the best teachers in the country. We had all the East Coast presenters come this year but I can’t wait until next year when we have the entire OPEN crew at JMU. If you want to see all the fun activities we took part in this summer, get on twitter and search #hpai18. You will find some pretty amazing activities and resources that were created at the conference. I want to give a big thanks to all my Dragon Fruit Team Members who were absolutely amazing and created this video as a resource for teachers to take back to their schools. See you next year!
I have a new dance for you all. This is a dance to the song “Let’s Get Ridiculous” by Redfoo. I am using this for field day! My students love it and I hope yours do too.
